Do you know the price difference from the emu and the oxygen? What software goes well with the emu? I was thinking about getting the mo phatt module. You think I should get the emu if I will buy the mo phatt or does it matter?

Yo whats up fellaz? I appreciate all the 411 you guys gave me. Big ups to Q-star for the 2 links on the emu and the m-audio. I went to guitar center today and checked out both the m and the emu. After talking to the sales person and messing around with both controllers, I went with the x-board 49. I personally play the pads and I like the weighted pads on the emu versus the oxygen. I also like the fact that it comes with a free emu module software, with over 1000 sounds in it. I know I'll find good use of that when I get my computer. I brought it home and right away made a beat. I got the jv-1010 so it was fast to get 16 channels into my mpc1k,(not like my old casio midi keyboard that can only transfer one channel, which was a hassle). So far no regrets with this controller. On the track I made last night, I loved the octave transpose feature that I used to make a real deep bass line. I also used it on a synth line as a layer, 1 octave high and one low. It definately gave some texture to my track. I love that feature which is going to make my music more blended. I'am still going threw the manual, because like all my equipment I want to master it. I'm a bookaholic. I love to study books to get my sound pristine. But anyways I greatly appreciate you guys and the site. It makes my producing life alot easier. Holla back at yo boy with some special tips or tricks on this x-board. What ya like about this baby?

Yo man let me know when you get it, and tell me how it is. If its dope and not just looks, I'll probably up grade too, but for now I'm straight. I cant complain, because like I said I had a cheap stressful casio midi keyboard, so right now I'm in heaven with this controller. Yo it seems like youre on-line when I'm on-line. I noticed this is the second time. Just curiouse, what city u in? I stay in o-side san diego, but originally born and raise in south central l.a. It seems like most of these cats are some where in the eastcoast, but I could be wrong. I just work 2nd shift so I'm a night crawler when I get home.

Ay yo, Julio. You can add all of Emu's soundsets to your X Board by ordering them from Emu's website for like 50 bucks. I got the MoPhatt and Planet Earth soundsets and plan on getting the Virtuoso sounds in a few.

Yo Ed, when you say sound sets do you mean software off the computer into my x-board? How does it all work? Let me know. Appreciated.

The disk has all of the programs and patches that the modules does. You just drag and drop from the CD into the Emu folder that you have the Proteus sounds in and you will be able to pull up all of the sounds of each module like the rack. It beats paying $300 for the hardware modules.

You then can use the desktop module as a VST in your PC's sequencer keying it withe the XBoard.

It might be a dumb ? But I'm still not caught up with the computer stuff until I purchase mine. Thanks for the info, let me know.
