I have the EMU 1212m - and I run Ableton, Reason, FL - etc

And even with a p4 and 1.5 gig ram - when i load a few processes in FL - it goggles up and crackles for no reason...

And Reason 3 is a bit buggy - but i cant evne run 1 Pad Combinator Patch for CRYING OUT LOUD !!! without a darn digital distortion.

I downloaded a reason song today -0 it had 6 combinators..and i couldnt hear it..it wouldnt play clear at all.

but the guy who made it - must of not had that problem - or it wouldnt of been finished.

So..if its not my ram and cpu...can it be my soundcard ?

if so - has anyone read or know reviews about it being a memory hog itself ?

and if so ? is there a better card that isnt that u reccomend ?

I've had fruity loops crackle up one me.. IT still does actually when I have too many plug-ins running.. It just means pretty much that you have to clear your computer of alot of things u ain't using... Especially all that porn!!

well i know emu has had Driver problems and this sounds like one of the effects, also it could be things running in the background. Is your Comp Optimized? if not it should be if your doing Pro Audio work on it. EMU cards take mad advantage of its Own DSP unit taking Load off of the CPU,but they had driver problems,Now here is the ray of light EMU just put out a new driver and from my understanding its on the money cured alot of problems. also optimize your pc for audio, make sure your audio card isnt sharing a IRQ with anything else. hope this helps
