enabling midi in logic5...

Aight, i disabled the midi connection in logic due to probelms i was having... To make it short, one day I opened logic (but before the program opened) and it said it couldnt pick-up the midi connection... It asked me to skip, retry or disable... My dumbass accidently hit disable and now it wont read the midi for shit.. This is really irratating and i just want to know if any of yall know how I can enable the midi? Otherwise, if i Uninstall and reinstall logic will my old projects still be able to open up with no problem? Any help is much appreciated in advance..

Yeah, and i've read the fuckin thing in and out and when i tried what they said nothing happened.. And i did that shit exact, i even had an experienced engineer look at it and he didnt even know what was up wit it... I've tried uninstalling and re-installing both the soundcard driver and logic alone..
