Fl/ReWire Maxing out horribly

I have no idea what is going on because I have a ASIO sound card and keep my levels low, even when I rewire, but when I started working on this beat last night, once I combinated 3 or 4 synths in Reason, every 2 or 3 measures when FL repeats the basic pattern I'm working on, it makes this HORRIBLE loud electric sound and the monitors completely peak out and stop working until I completely restart FL(the main mixer levels monitor just stays at 100%). This is going to kill my hearing if I can't stop it, like this sound is seriously that loud and horrble, how can I fix this???

check your CPU usage levels... How much ram do you have.. Hard drive space dedicated to temp. sounds... what is the speed of your hard drive (7200 rpm is good). these can all be factors.. If all else fails, fuck with cache read and write sizes.

and if THAT fails, change ur soundcard driver to WDM and fuck wit the latency (if this is available to you)

CPU seems to be fine, I got a brand new dual processor 3.2 ghz mac book pro so I doubt its that (1 gig of ram also). You know what it may be? I didn't realize hard drive speed could be the issue, because I was running a couple refills off of a CD. would it make sense if that were the problem? ( just saw your sig- was runnin a few of those Fantom NNXT's off cd since I didn't have enough time to copy all 40 gigs...the sounds are sick though!)

only other instance i had of that hapenning was when i used an fl 6 file in fl 5.... other than that its fine... but yeah that shit be catching me off guard... damn
