we have SAE, JMC, and fullsail here, pitty there all full fee paying course's, around 8000 for 1 year taking 2 years too complete, up front, no HECs, no Refunds, I talked to afew people one was a sound tech who just open a new studio, and a pass student

"for the price, set up a home studio, and learn it by urself with books/manules, they crank out too many sound tech's/engineers, then there are jobs for"

"the stuff you will learn becomes outdated within afew years"

I was gonna go to one of them, but after bad feedback , I applied for a Bach. of business (music industry) at uni/college for next year

yea i went there. I say it was cool, and can def. offer a way to get into a studio, etc.

But...its too expensive, and its a big business. I wouldn't recommend it.
Do it yourself, take a short inexpensive course to get started then learn on your own man.

Good luck getting admissions off your back!

yeah..i know this kat down there, i havent talked to him about it yet. but i would agree with k.c., if we all go, there will be no jobs for us..lol...thats what happened with the tech industry...there are so many computer nerds such as myself, there will not be enought jobs for all of us, thats why im majoring in business. but it is expensive too, hell all that money, you can build a studio and have a pretty damn good set up, if you learn it you will be str8, and if you are serious, you will learn it!

well i started with recording engineering, then I switched to digital media
cause i aint wanna graduate and make 5 an hour pouring coffee in a studio. Plus I already had a studio & had alot of knowledge of the shit they taught you.

Yea they teach u the big consoles but when u fresh out of school who is gonna hire you to work on em? Nobody.

My man Gold did graduate to work on gangstarrs album...he was like assistant or some shit..

When i went it was like 24.000 for the DM program, that included a computer. Think the audio was like 22.000

Hope this helps man!

DAAAAAMN, Please tell me you misplaced the decimal, or that it would be less in the U.S., i havent heard from admissions yet so i dont have anyway of knowin exactly wuts goin on wit the school. (i called the one in orlando), so its not like a tuition where you just pay for the year and choose what courses you want?...do you have to pay individually for every course? i hope not because i wanted to go for recording engineering, digital media, entertainment business, and maybe some other shit.

i mean im not lookin to get hired, i just need to know the real way to use everything so i can get the most out of my eqipment so i can produce myself and run a successful record company. so the job part is coo wit me.

I went Recording Arts School at Center Of Digital Imaging and Sound and finished two years it cost $ 8 g's a year I would have never been able to cover it but I got a scholarship so it was covered but still the stuff I learned in there was the same stuff I had been doing at home except they made us learn about frequencies and how sound waves travel and effect each other but all in all I have learned more on my own then goin to school the only diffence is that I got to go and play around on some really top notch gear. An out of every on that graded I think 1 person is workin a "real" studio other than that most have gone to set up there own basment studio's which does the trick finely for now.
