How to make 8bit analog sounding drums?

i read somewhere that dre,alchemist and lots of other producers make their drums with old analog drumachines that samples in 8bit. now i have some kicks n snares loaded on my fruity now the big question how can i make them sound 8bit ish ? is there a fx for this or maybe a sampler setting.

how can i achieve it only with fl studio without any external hard or software?

get an 8 bit soundcard, record from output cuz you cant by fl alone, its a hardware issue. Roland S330 or a DSS could convert to 8 bit I believe in order to get that lo fi sound.

Its a combo of 8 bit processing and old skool converters that does the magic.

Here is the easy way.

Open you sample in adobe audition. Select the entire wave the copy it. Go file "new" the select 8Bit res. Now paste your sample into the new file and save.

Or get a VST effect, i had a VST (dont know its name) that would down sample to 8Bit.

damnt that vst fx is great AMG it makes the drums bang way more the default setting was to 10bit i went down to 8bit and voila got my 8bit DRUMS.and the best thing u can use it with whatever u want not only fo the drums.hehe thanks AMG always appreciated.

*edit* the other vsts fx from mda was nice too.

yeah they gave a shit load of em'. i haven't tried them yet though.

yo i got some prob with the mda degrade. if i load it up to more then one channel in the mixer,it freezes.same thing if i use it as a send fx.anyone knows how to fix this.it works only on 1 channel.heeeeeeeeelp!
