i just picked up an mpc 1000 today and its sick as hell. ive been readin the manual all day and im maing progress but im having one problem. i plugged the usb cable into my computer, opened the hard drive icon, drpped some wav files into the "internal" folder and now i CANT (edit) find them on the mpc. also, im doing what the manual says to turn the autoload off, but when i turn it back on, it still loads up. ive made sure not to just ask stupid questions without actually checking into it myself first but ive been at this for a while and id apreciate some help

First, create a folder on the CF card and copy your wav files into it. Don't use the Internal folder. Second, the MPC will load everything that is in the Autoload folder on the CF card regardless if that option is enabled/disabled. What the autoload option does is enable/disable loading the factory programs/demos. You have 16mb of RAM standard, a portion of which is used to hold the factory programs, samples, and demos. You can't touch this part of the MPC. So if you want a clean palette when you turn on your MPC, remove or rename the Autoload folder (case sensitive) and disable the autoload option. Now, when you turn on your MPC nothing will load. It's a good idea to save the entire memory at this point so you can load it back in to clear the memory without having to turn off/on the MPC. Hope I didn't confuse you more. It's all in the manual. You just have to read it several times front to back and play around with the MPC and you'll figure it all out.

Peace Out \/

thanks for the help...

alright new problem. i did what you said and i took all the files out of the autoload folder and saved them on my computer. i did the same with the internal folder. after i did this, there was still no free space on the disc. 150 kb is all i have available and when i try to even put one of the wav files that i took off back on, it wont accept it. basically i have fucked myself into having no sounds available on my mpc. if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it.
