OK, how fugged up is this...

Everyone knows that the southeast US has been dealing with severe water restrictions...I see on the news that since everyone did such a good job at saving water by not washing cars, watering the lawns, and so on...the city of Raliegh NC, is going to have to raise your water bill due to the lack of money coming in from conserving. What kind of ish is this? It's like you're damned if you do bad and you're damned if you do good. This country needs to start all over from square one.

Another odd fact about this whole water restriction thing...Now the water levels are back up, almost to normal and some places still have restrictions on how you can use water.

Here's something to think about...

How many times have we been screwed with other bills due to this same scenario? Insurance rates, Light Bills, Food Prices, Gas Prices, Hotel Rates...and so on? Will you be telling your kids and grandkids... "I remember when the price of everything went down to appeal to comsumers" or will you be saying "You gotta buy ish that you don't need in order to keep the price down?"

Don't get me wrong because I'm Pro-American but this is one fugged up country (compared to what it used to be) IMO.

Now that they charge for water this makes it a commodity, commodities values are raised by its availability.
We all know water falls from the sky, at least it does here in the uk very regularly, by the companies pretending that its not so widely available(also note that the UK is an island) raises its value and makes them rich.
Just like the peak oil scam, they are doing it with water. Its a scam, plain and simple. And its happening right here too.

What has destroyed America is the "Corporate machine" that the whole war of independence was about.
The same corporate interests that were fought over all those years ago are the same corporate interests that control america today. Corporate rule is called fascism. We have it the same here.

Dude they took that from us,copying Charlotte, as you know we are 4 hours south of yall, they did that about a month ago and raised it 15% .
Fuckin asses! Same reason too. Next time Im just gonna run all the water out.
Im tellin you they are trying to crush us.

It really does appear that this country is out to get us...all of us! I'm starting to see signs of how much our country loves us each and every day...the next drout, I'm not conserving either and when they give me a ticket/fine for using my water as much as I like, Im gonna tell them that they should thank me because eventhough Im getting a fine, I'm also helping to keep their water bill at a reasonable rate. It amazes me to see how stupid our governments are.

We need change very badly, Bush has truely fugged this country up.

While the price rise is bollocks I can see the logic in the continued restrictions. If long term projections suggest that overall rain fall will remain low then the restrictions still make sense.

In Australia we're in a long term drought. Good rainfall last year helped get the dams back up pretty good, but that might get used up pretty quick without continued restrictions. If that happens and the rainfall dries up, which is expected, we'll feel pretty stupid if we go mad with it.

Good point, I was thinking the same thing.

I read the other day that some scientists are saying that the drought in the Murray-Darling basin, (where the majority of Australia's food is grown, (or was grown)), could be a permanent change in that area's weather pattern. With El Nino coming this year it's just going to exacerbate the problem.

Fuck, Australia's already 2/3 desert, as if we need more.

They are getting us in Shreveport with a "fuel charge" on our electric bill. A while back my bill was a little over $120 and $50 of it was the damn "fuel charge".
