I thought there would be a lot of flips on this one!
I kinda think with this one...theres so much to choose from but at the same time, all still pretty identifiable. I really really struggled with this one until earlier today where I was like man fuck it lemme do whatever. But yeah, as smooth as this shit is, it somewhat put me off at first. I felt like everyone would grab the same shit, which sometimes is cool...just didnt immediately get that vibe with this track. So, since no one has posted anything for this one yet, here goes a rough draft. Cant escape those keys.

Edit: Had to tweak a few things there...of course a rough rushed mix but yeah had to fix that right quick

@Mike Chief That was dope. I know what you mean about the main piano. I figured most people would go for that but it's so good. The drums compliment nicely, the vocal parts are a nice touch. Yeah the bass could needs some changes but still good.

@2GooD Productions Nice intro. This is a really good flip with the added instruments in there it gives it a lot of flavor. Drums hit nicely. Dope mix.

@Iron Keys thanks man, I thouroughly appreciate that.

So! I went with a little bit of a different approach towards constructing the drums this time around. They are programmed on this one. I have a decent amount of drumkits that Ive come across over the years; Im actually more than happy to share. However, what I did was start with the basic kick and snare, played those out etc. I was trying to play a hat along with those, but was failing miserably because I just havent practiced finger drumming to that extent (just using mpk for that at times). I sat for a bit and was really thinking of how to get in the pocket period... the key for me in this flip was finding it for the hats rather than the snare. With that, sent kicks to their own bus, light compression. From there, sent snares and kick bus to a rough drum mix - ran the LA2A and stock fruity reverb 2 in that order.

Just realized - depending on the flow/vibe, I typically layer my kicks and snares just for a little extra beef. Though some people may disagree, theres ways to go about it subtley.
