i recently discovered the niceness of the audio jack software for mac. not only does it support really low latencies, but you can route itunes to machines "external" inputs and sample stuff on the fly. totally changed my life :)
Dude me too! Its super handy. Same with Soundflower, but I think I like Jack better... Plus I just discovered how to create an aggregate audio device in Core Audio and that also opened up a shit load of routing possibilities....pretty awesome.

Yeah...I just found out a week ago about adding swing to a particular instrument rather than the entire track......FELL IN LOVE WITH IT EVEN MORE.

Then I put all of my Kontakt instruments in it.....then I creamed my pants...

opened it in PT and recorded everything tracked out.....creamed some more...

It's fucking awesome.....

Geez...All I know is Ive been waiting for something like this to come along forever and now I cant afford the batch! lol....Def sold me finally once I tried it in person...So familiar to the MPC's workflow that its just perfect man...

So can u shift notes too?...like slip them around by ticks via a function or knob on the box? That was one of the big selling points for me when I copped my MPC.

yep. best way to do this is in step editor mode, where you press and hold a pad and then move around the underlying event by turning the swing knob.

@joe: when you open the routing window, you have maschine both in the send and the receive ports. expand the port list in the receive ports and select left in 1. next open itunes in the send list and double-click left out. repeat that for the right channel, then you should have the itunes signal on the In 1&2s in maschine.

hah, i know of a rapper called joe rilla and i mixed that up, sorry. did you set up audio jack as audio out in the system's sound preferences? itunes should then show up in jack once you start jack pilot.
