yo i read this on another site. i dont know how true it is but of it is i'm pissed

Anyone with Windows XP or newer? You are being monitored. Some of you may already know that when your Microsoft based platform computers start getting shitty you can restart it in DOS Mode and fix the problem. Well on XP there is no longer DOS Mode. Its a newer "upgraded" version of the old DOS and its supposed to help you fix your problems easier. At least thats what they want you to think. What they dont tell you is that there is that "old" version of DOS still on your computer. This operating system is just hidden. Also within this hidden OS is a hidden folder. A database that collects all your online activity by never really clearing your Internet Explorer history. It also never fully deletes all your Microsoft Outlook Express e-mails. So this database that has all of your personal information like credit card numbers, e-mails, phone numbers, addresses, illegal porn you all love to pirate and tons of other information you would like to keep secret is being collected. Well how are they getting it off of my computer you ask? Automatic updates. About every week your computer does a check for new software or existing software that has no bug's in it anymore (side note: there will always be bugs in Microsoft programs). Once they perform these automatic updates they retrieve this hidden folder on this hidden operating system. Well how do I get it off of my computer? Well its not that easy. You can just delete the file once you find it which in itself is nearly impossible to do if you dont know where it is because it regenerates once you restart your computer. So go to this website and find out more information on what I just said along with how to get rid of it and more information on why Microsoft sucks.

Word...My pops is real up on this kinda shit, he let me know about this a long time ago. After he told me that, i just turned off my automatic updates and said fuck it....Its really not worth the minor update that they say is so critical.....Word of advice - If your OS hasent been updated to the new version where this problem occurs, go into yer prefs and turn that shit OFF!!!

I stopped using IE a while ago, it's only Firefox for me now. I find it's even faster (maybe it's just me).

And I never use auto updates either, that shit gets annoying fast.

This is how to clear that folder:

Restart your pc and when that screen comes up where you can enter setup, press F8. When you see the menu, press F8 again. Now highlight Start Windows in Safe Mode with Dos prompt, or some shit like that. When windows starts, log in as Administrator.

Now in Dos do the following:

cd\

del index.dat/s

shutdown -r

Your pc will restart and that info will be gone.

Yea, I use mozilla as well. I've known about the XP thing for a long time. Even b4 it came out. That's why I was dreading having to use XP.

I'm not exactly a shiny button either, but hey. I shouldn't be a target either. Linux just wasn't multi-media enuff for me. I'm really thinkin about goin Mac man. Then I could use logic. But truth be told, it doesn't matter what os you use. If the gov't wants to peek, they will. They have the best hackers and crackers.

I don't mind that as much as I mind microsoft peekin to tell you the truth. Them rich bastards will sell your info quick. Big Brother in the sky ain't goin no where ya'll. Get you a Commodore 64c, and you don't have to worry. lol I still got one of them by the way.
