Sup guys. I have a MPC 2000Xl and a MIDI controller i just got a Motif rack. I have a slight problem
I noticed the MIDI channels 2 and 3 are not playing any sound on my motif rack.

At first i though there was something wrong with my MPC but I tested the the MIDI connection on MIDI out A and out B on the MPC. Regardless of what MIDI out i used on the MPC when i dialed to channel 2 and channel 3 on the Motif rack no sound will play. THis is espically wired since all the other channels work fine.
I pretty sure the motif rack is getting the MIDI siginal on channel 2 and 3 casue when i press a pad on the MPC or on my keyboard the Multi button blinks. (just like any other MIDI channel)

Why isent a sound playing on channel 2 or 3. I checked the mixer and mute setttings on the motif and everything seems to be set up properly for those channels.

im greatful for any tips or pointers

hey mark i figured it out

You gotta make sure you set your MIDI recive channels
here is what somebody wrote from another fourm

Hey Class,

I think I had the same problem when I first started on the Mo-Rack. Hope this helps you...

While in Multi-Mode Click the Edit button. On the top left hand corner it should now say "Multi Part ##" (## innoting the channel you're currently on). If it happens to say "Multi-Common" then click on any one of the channel buttons to switch over to the Part window. Now in Multi Part go to the channel which is silent (eg - Multi Part 02). You can do this simply by holding down SHIFT and clicking either the First or Second Channel buttons to move left and right. Next click the down button 4 times till you reach "RcvCh". Make sure this # matched the channel you are on.

That should do it-- at least it did for me. Sorry if this explination was a bit long winded. I'm not sure how new you are to the rack.
