Mpc 1000 Files

I would like to know if the MPC 1000 can read 2000xl files and programs? I will be getting my 1000 in a couple of days and I would like to know because I have friends who have the "XL" ....can they bring their projects into my studio and load their projects in my 1000 and keep going .... please let me know....and my other question is how do you hook up a hard drive to the 1000

I think you have to use a program like Bluebox or something to convert them. But I believe it can be done.

As long as you have OS 2 installed you will be able to read the 2000xl SND files

Yea just download the new OS 2.1 from their website and it will be exactly the same as the 2000 XL except no autochromation

MPC2000XL SEQ, ALL, PGM, WAV (When PGM file is loaded, only pad assign is loaded. Other edit parameters are ignored.)
MPC4000: SEQ, ALL, WAV (No compatibility of PGM)
MPC3000: No compatibility
Z4/8: WAV only
S1000/3000: No compatibility
