Mpc2000XL Rec Gain Prob

Can someone tell me is this normal for my mpc or should i get it serviced.

When in sample mode I can turn the rec gain knob down to zero/min with no effect. The audio still comes through pretty loud. Is this normal for a 1 year old mpc2000xl.

I don't remember about on a 2k, however on the 1k, yes, even with the volume turned down all the way on the rec gain knob, some signal still leaks out. It's no big deal, just don't have a signal going into it when you're tracking out or mixing your beat.
