as a european rather leftist i have sympathies for obama. how come it always seems like your democrats will take the presidency during campaign, but people give their votes to republicans later on in the election?

I do still find it interesting that people can still put faith in the election process, even if the last two elections have been rigged. Wheres all the questions about digital voting systems, unaccountable voting systems, systems already proven TWICE to be faulty and manipulatable. It doesnt matter what the people think come election day, the winner be will decided by machines(and their controllers).
The people that use dirty tricks to win an election, things like defaming the character of your opponent is twisted, lacks no honour, and is highly disagreeable. But yet I see no one attacking the republicans for using such tactics.
No they would rather attack someone for not sticking a fucking hand on their heart, get the fuck out of here.

seriously. the republicans campaign is bullshit... and from the most recent polls, it seems the are doing better than theyve ever been since they been doing a negative campaign. Just shows u how fucked up, ignorant, and fundamentaly racist our country is. Its fuuny how Bush has said and done sooo many fucked truly fucked up things that he somehow gets a pass for, while obama is seen as a muslim??? and gets flack for some non relevant bullshit like this. Who gives a shit if u got ur heart over ur hand if ur going to keep a war going, keep big business rich with tax breaks and loopholes while the middle class suffers, and pollute our coastlines with oil spills. But as usual, all we do is look at the dumb shit and make our decision on stupid igsignificant things like this. and now they r comparing him to paris hilton and britney spears. wow, the nerve they got. oh but i forgot, hes got his hand over his heart so its all good. Oh well, if Mcain wins I know where ill be. Canada here I come!

Seriously, I am sooo disillusioned right now with this country, guess I was an optomist most of my life and I'm just starting to notice how truly screwed up and hypocritical and racist the place is.

The reason im voting for obama is because i belief this country can be salvaged a brought back into a positive light. An obama vicotry would inspire alot of people who never thought they had a chance in life to do big things. If a black dude from hawai can be president, maybe my son can be a rocket scientist or some other shit. You get the idea. Its about hope for the future imo. Foreclosures are at a record high as well as unemployment. the problem I have at this point is that sure, Obama would be an inspirational story and all that, but this country needed help over 50 years ago and it's far too late for any of us to do anything. I hate to say it, but that's the hard truth of the matter. Then look at the choices:

Neo Con Repulblicans or Democratic aka Socialist party. Unfortunately to "fix" this country is to start over from scratch and we all know that won't/can't happen. All we can do is pick the lesser of the two evils...

§171. Conduct during playing The Star-Spangled Banner

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.
