OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE, ARe u into it?

I was just wondering if you guys were open-source software users ...and if there are any programs you would strongly recommend?

As for me, I use Open Office (as the name suggests it's an office suite) on a regular basis. I like the built-in PDF converter, that's sooo convenient.

Otherwise, I like HTTrack (web site graber), .....the GIMP (graphic editor-I hate the interface tho)...

Not really, but open source scripts yeah. Just regular scripts that can be used for web programming, etc.

I guess for you the ultimate open source would be Linux??

I was a big RED had linux user but now those son's of bitches aint open source anymore. (red hat 10)Guess now i gotta transisiton to UNIX in a couple of months.

yea man i was fuckin with mandrake the other day. is the kernal stable? How are the features compared to red hat.?? what verison of g++ are they on. are the c++ stl libraries simalar to red hat

m worred aobut porting my c++ executable files from red hat to another unix platform. The C++ STL libearies are differnt on each platform so i may have to compile my code all over again

The only other UNIX enviroment i have used is solaris and thats for mainframe compiling.

man that I.T stuff just pays the bills. I dont love it, it just keeps the lights on. I aint not nerd thats just what i do!!!!!!!! (you should see how i get when database design is brought up )
