how do you make pitched drum rolls in reason? i was thinking you could probably do it with the sampler by loading a snare sample and just playing it out, but i'm sure theres a better more effective way. thanks

There is! Use the Redrum. Load up to 10 diff't (or the same) snare(s) up in Redrum pitch them however you like. Change your steps to 32 or better(depending on where you want the roll), change your resolution to 32 or better (the digital readout steps and the edit steps need to match).

Any sample you use in one of the other samplers in reason can be loaded up in the Redrum. Even Dr. Rex slices.

If you don't usually use Redrum for your drum patterns I recommend that you dig into it. It allows you to do some real interesting things with your drum patterns. From Flam, shuffle, Atlering, Randomizing, automating diff't patterns. Using the hard, medium and soft function to change up the veloscity and to create swing. I could go on and on. Don't sleep...dig into Redrum!

U don't need a tutorial video...order this book. Power Tools for Reason 3.0 by Kurt Kurasaki. Amazon carries it. It's the Bible of Reason 3.0.

Open a NN-19 - Load The Sound You Want To Roll.

Hit the keys on your keyboard going up or downwards...record that

press play.

OR make a matrix...and trigger it and control the envelops and pans.

The redrum method is )not( the easier way.
