I'm looking at the Presonus Firebox and MAudio Firewire 410 to replace my audigy soundcard. Does anyone have either of these? and will they replace my audigy so that I can completly take the audigy hardware out? thanks in advance

i'd get the 410 cause you can use protools with it. i'll be picking up the 410 in a few hopefully. and i havn't heard anything bad about it.

I usuially make drums/use'samples on the mpc1k and melodies with reason/midi keyboard. and then load that instrumental into a track within audition and then record vocals, tables whatever and then export that as a song. I know nothing about protools but have been curious, how would Protools replace my current configuration and how much is it? thanks

ok, when i pick up the 410 i'll pretty much have the sam setup ans you only i got the 2.5K.
i never used audition so i dont know much about it, but protools is a sequencing program, heres more info about it http://m-audio.com/products/en_us/ProToolsMPowered7-main.html.

it says its 250, but if your in school you can get it for 150.

Yes it will replace your current audio interface. You will be able to uze it wit Adobe Audition 1.5 but it may require u to download an ASIO/WDM file. Not 100 percent sure but either one is compatible with most software. No need to change software in my opinion.

firewire 410 definately, class recommended this to me and it was definately a great buy. the ability to use pro tools is an extra +++. if u have the audigy inside ur computer as a pci card, i think you should leave it inside, you will be gettin extra ins outs and extra midi ports etc.
