Dope video of Primo hearing Will Sessions' Elmatic instrumentals of NY State of Mind, Memory Lane and Represent. It's ill to hear that Nas picked the sample to use and made me think, with hip hop production, if someone GIVES you a sample, shouldn't they get co production credit? I mean, the bulk of making a beat is finding the sample...

I disagree, it's an important part of production but an amateur beatmaker can mess up the best loops ... (bad mix, picking wrong drums, etc ...)

Anyone could find a sample.......the beat still has to be put together......the samples still need to be chopped....the format still needs to be done....

So unless the artist is involved in the actual production, I would disagree as well.
