There should'nt be to much of a problem in changing the motherboard from your current one. Do you happen to know which model you have?

You should be able to switch the motherboard over ok, but if i was you i would just have a search on google first to see how other people have tried to update one from dell.

As alot of the pre-made computers which you buy from some of the main companys they tend to leave out some features which limit the amount you can change with them wanting you to go back a few years later to buy a new one from them.

Honestly, if you replace the motherboard, all that you are keeping is the case, hardware, and peripherals. And possibly RAM. I assume you'll be uprgrading the CPU as well since u wanna go from PIII to P4. First thing to do is to look at how much RAM you have for the current machine. Do you know how much you have?
BTW I'm Dell DCSE cerified, so this is right up my alley. I don't recommend them however.

co-sign with Steel Side 100%, Eventhough FL7 is a relatively simple program it chews up some RAM and just replacing the motherboard won't do you a whole lot of good IMO. Find out how much RAM you can use and I wouldn't go with no less than 1gig minimum. If it won't support that much RAM, I'd look into selling them both for enough to purchase a new pc that will.
