Product placing...

What's everybodies opinion on the not so discrete product placing of the iPod in music videos like e.g. 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige etc...
Personally, it's bugging me a little that artists that are already making tons of money are greedy enough to get even more money for advertising products in their videos...and thereby not giving the consumer the opportunity to choose whether their want to see the advertising like e.g. with block of commercials where you can just skip channel. I know that advertising like this has already been done for a while but now I start to see a trend and can only guess that we will see more of this, that videos might end up being half videos/half commercials.

Its obvious that 50 is about his money. I mean honestly, he has some good joints but he's rapping to get paid and not trying to make an artistic advancement musically. So if a company is throwing more cheddar at him to advertise then why wouldn't he take it. The same with these other "artists." Man, music is big business bottom line. Truthfully, I don't even pay those products any attention. Its not like I got money to burn on them; I'd rather spend it on some gear...plus I'm often distracted by the T&A lol.
