Aight basically say i take a 10 second sample / loop watever u wann call it and i wanna chop it up 1 can i do this in reason without recycle and 2 how would i do it the only way right now i no i could do it is by making individual chops of the sample in sound forge then opening each chop in a seperate NN-XT which would require nuff of dem so i wanna avoid having 2 do this if possible

you actually dont have to open up seperate nnxt's. you can load multiple samples into one nnxt and just set the zone to one key. just load a sample and fnd that little bar that stretches across the piano keys on the blue screen. click and drag each side to the one key you want (for example "c") then unselect that sample by clicking anywhereelse in that blue screen, load up the next sample and do it again.

hope this helps

U have to kinda bend tha rules if u dont have recycle or maybe a editing program that would do tha same edits much more tediously....

No. U cant "slice samples" in reason, tho u can simulate tha same thing if u got tha time by loadin yer sample in either tha Redrum, tha NN-19, or tha NN-XT(my choice). Once in tha XT u can highlight yer sample in tha module and then start turnin tha start or end knobs to acheive tha slice points you want....If u dont want to open a mad amount of XT's then u can right click in tha XT window and select ADD ZONE from tha list and then load another sample to be mapped in tha XT along with tha others already existing....Then if u want to edit newer samples; simply highlight them and then adjust yer starting points once again....

Hope that made sense - and helped a bit?

u can chop samples in reason, in NNXT distant remote, down under the lil screen it has knobs, and find the ones that says start and end, select the percent of the sample u want taken off at either the beginning or the end, I hope you understand what I am talking about.

I have done this often, without ReCycle. As already mentioned, load several samples into the NN-XT and use the start and end buttons to chop. Additionally, I also load an extra mixer to the main mixer, press 'TAB' to turn the interface around, connect line 1-2 to track 1 on the extra mixer, and line 3-4 to track 2 etc, and then connect the extra mixer to a track on the main mixer. I then highlight each sample on the NN-XT and on the knob under the screen, all the way to the right, I set each sample to a different line out. That way I can easily adjust the volume of each sample via the extra mixer, and apply effects via the mixer...and it acts a little bit like a line bus, cause when you perhaps want to make a final mix in Reason and fade out your instruments, you can just fade the one track on the main mixer, and not all the tracks on the extra mixer.
Hope that made sense...

Glad that I could be of service. And remember to apply reverb, delay and chorus via the mixer, and not directly with the instrument. I was told that this was very important by someone who should know.

I got it and didn't get it at the same time, u need to explain in simpler terms, if u don't mind, cuz I wanna learn this.

Sacred One, what parts didn't you get. Please explain in more detail. Also, have you read what I wrote whilst trying it in Reason? It sometimes helps to play around with the program at the same time.

For effects:
Yer gonna wanna click on yer mixer, then go up to 'create' and before u select yer effect, i.e. - reverb...You wanna hold 'SHIFT' while you click tha effect in tha create list.
(this will allow yer effect to not be auto routed.)
Now u can hit 'TAB' and then route tha effect manually to tha AUX ins and outs.
-Later, simply adjust tha AUX send pots to yer liking on whatever channel you want.

And im not sure if you caught all this so go ahead and read this again too, regarding yer intitial problem.
