Question For Mac/protools User

wzup fam I'm looking to move to a apple but I don't have alot of bread... I trying to spend under 1K should I go with a 1.GHz mini Mac that not upgradeable at all for around $500 or should I get a old dual G4 500mhz power Mac ..?
I'm looking to run protools and maybe a video editing software.. ..OR should I say forget them both a just get a better IBM compatible computer with a 64-bit amd and call it a day....

With such a low budget, I would probably end up going with a PC. Pro Tools LE runs more on CPU power. A G4 500MHz isn't going to cut it unless you are using a Pro Tools HD / MIX system where the cards do most of the work.

thw 1.5ghz mini mac wont work?

Sure it will work... you just can't upgrade the thing.. I wouldn't recommend it as an audio machine at all. The Mac Mini was made just to be an affordable option for people that wanted to OSX.. not run full fledged audio software... but hey.. do what you like.. :p
