Question for the ableton heads

so im running ableton off my mac, but ive acumulated so many audio files recently that i had to initiate a major clean up to create space for future projects. to save space i transfered my hits and samples to an external hard drive, the problem now though, is that i cant locate the hard drive on abletons browser (on the left pannel) in order to audition samples and loops in a project. i have to physically move samples out of the hard drive onto the desktop and then into ableton which defeats the whole purpose.
so basically my question is: how do i run and audition samples in ableton off my external hard drive without transferring those files onto my macs hard drive first.

Yo I don't ever say much on line but to help you out. Find out what format your external HHD is cause it sounds like it might be in PC windows NTFS format.

Mac's can read NTFS formatted drives.

If you use the ableton browser you just need to keep going up a directory until you get to the absolute root of your entire file system. Then you should be able to see all your mounted drives.

You may be able to get it out of the HD, but not transfer to the HD, though.
