Recording In Acid 4.0

Yo i just had a session last night with a few emcees and i used my Adobe Audition to multitrack tha vocals...This is tha norm for me but intead i used AA instead of CEP (Both are really tha exact same prgm to those who dont know)....Problem was after i saved and went back to my session that i recorded...My session couldnt even be opened!!....

Now this night had a lot of effort put into it and tha verses were raw as fook! So, as you can guess - i was pretty vexed when my shit wouldnt open...Later i tested a fake session to see what happened and tha same thing again!?......So to make a long story longer - Im like Fuck AA now and im lookin @ Acid4...

So far it seems to be very easy use and self explanitory........But heres my Question:

For vocal filtering and exiting - what are some good starting points or favorite presets that can get me started??
(i know every session iz different and so there isnt a specific formula - but im just lookin for a some nice tips or presets that you may commonly use.)

With that said i hope some of yall use this prgm!?

ok ok i usaully do all my acid vocals editing using a program called goldwave ( http://goldwave.com ) and then i save the recorded vox and reload the project with the vocals sounding mad clear... there are numerous presets and FX that u will need to get ahold of and experiment with... there are quite a few noise gates also and i beleive theres a chorus filter that gives the voice more depth...

I am sorry Deuce that it took you so long to find Acid, you definitely been missing a whole lot especially now that Sony has it.
I usually begin with setting the microphone record level with the db meter that pops up when you press record and set the file location, so wavs, dont get lost. But first before I move on I suggest resetting the Grid Space- this allows free flow editing of your tracks, by going to Options->Grid Spacing -> 64th Note Triplets.
When you open the program down at bottom where the master volume meter is, just off to the right you'll see assignable fx click on that to add fx and repeat for more, I usually load up Parametric Eq, Reverb, Simple Delay and a Compressor plugin to start off with as the mix get more complex I add more,
To use the fx after loading the sample look directly below the name for Vol. and click on it and you should see Fx 1 - to however much fx you put in, just click on the fx you need just for that sample and raise the volume to send it through the fx before going to the master output.
Also, I suggest getting Soundforge, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I dont think Acid integrates with other wav editors - monopolistic bastards you know.
This allows you to just by right clicking on a sample that you place in acid and selecting Soundforge. Soundforge opens with that sample and allows you to edit it and save, once saved it is automatically updated in Acid, this is a crucial crucial feature, especially when you need to normalize all the vocals.

Oh I forgot to mention, i doubt you'll be having that problem (loosing your files) with Acid. It generates a triple save when you save Acid project file, It saves your current save, and keeps a backup of the save before you current save, and if all hell lets loose and the computer shuts off or the program ends abruptly - Acid also has a backup Auto Save that restores projects cut short. So record with confidence.....

good point with the save feature.. i think that having triple saves and template saves is one of the best features of Acid... duece one more thing... the defaulty folder for recorded vocals is the acid pro folder.. u can pick ur vocals up from there and alter them in any sound editor of your choice... i personally dislike soundforge... it couldnt compete with the likes of cool edit or goldwave for that amtter... in older versions of Acid u could specify any audio editing software u wanted... it wasnt always just specified to soundforge.. but like K said... they monopolized and now the only audio editing that is available at the click of a whim is soundforge... i use goldwave becuase it is small and very nimble.. it loads quickly...and its freeware...
