Ok, I have went out and bought a mixer (Boss BX-600), I have connected it to the computer and it works ok.

Now I dont know how to actually RECORD the sample from the turntable so taht I can use it. It plays in my computer speakers but when I tried just pressing record in Cubase SX nothing was recxorded but an empty file.

How do I actually 'sample'?

Also while on this toipic, I have a slight buzzing sound going on in my computer speakers when I play a record, and it continues after i stop playing while the mixer is turned on. Once i turn the mixer of it stops?

Any way going about fixing this, and will the buzzingbe heard on the sample?

Ok thanks in advance!

1. Click on the little speaker in your task bar near the clock in the bottom right hand corner.
2. Click Options, then Properties
3. check Recording then click OK
4. check input then close the window.

You should have sound and recording then. All this is assuming youre using a WINDOWS operating system.

u dont even need a mixer or amp...just get an adapter that goes from phono plugs into a headphone jack and plug it into the mic port of your soundcard...your mixer will amplify the signal....i do it this way with no complaints

The only problem with that hook up is that you don't have the ability to control your levels from an external source, you can only hook up one t-table and nothing else whereas if you hook a mixer up to it, everything thats hooked to your mixer will play through your cpu and you dont have to click open a window everytime you want to make an adjustment to your levels. With a mixer you can adjust your levels on the mixer and you can hook up all kinds of music sources like...2 turntables, cd player, cass. deck, mic, or whatever. But like Crate Raider said... you dont HAVE to have a mixer...this is just another way of hooking a t-table up.

Yeah what light said. Make sure the ground is hooked up correct. The ground wire is the thin wire that's with the rca wires coming from ya turntable. That hooks on to a screw on the mixer that's located near the turntable input on the mixer. Ok now on to your no sound when recording problem. In ya sound card mixer ( virtual mixer in your computer when you click on the volume icon) make sure the "recording source" input is set to line . Now 1 more step make sure you have your sound card selected as the audio source in your softwares "audo options" menu. And make sure you select a rec. input( on the track your recording on) .

That should do it.

I know sounds like a lot but its realy not once you do it. You don't have to set all dat up no more.
