Recording in FL

Okay, I've finally got the balls to ask........

How do you set up FL to record vocals?

whoa dog, why record that shit in FL? my advice is just record it perhaps with a good sample editor, you can set up your recording mixer (windows mixer, just check the recording properties on that shit) to only record mic input or whatever, so you can just play your track or whatever and sing along. You will have a single track of just the vocals, and you can do some shit with it in your sample editor straightaway, then mix in FL and tweak to perfection ;P. vocals are gonna need mad mixing and shit regardlessly, so recording it in straight away in fl is not gonna make it better from the start anyway IMO. I honestly havent been using FL for too long, and I dont even have a mic so i would help you on this if i could, but as i said, i lack the tools and interest .

yeah, i understand and I do have plans on coppin a good multitracking program, I just haven't done it yet. I had cool edit, which for me is as easy to use with vocals as FL is with beats. That's probably why 9th Prince is so successful....his set up is easy to work with. Thanks for the advice, though!

I've always used sound forge for my vocals...Its a real good program and editing is quite easy.

Worldcityceo- Flstudio is called studio for a reason, because you can do absolutely everything in that one software. To take advice from someone who never attempted and recorded vocals successsfully in Flstudio would be a big mistake on your part. I've done it, and it works great, actually better than any multitrack I've ever used because of it's unique versatility. You'll learn more about that once you get into it. The only thing I would advice is that you record your vocals in isolation, you don't want the sound of your computer or electrical equipment on your recordings (then you will really need another software to do some noise reduction). In flstudio you record through your mixer so you can add realtime fx's like compression reverb or what have you. It is better to master 1 program than to be a novice at many. I posted a tutorial on recording vocals in flstudio with a link to everything you need to get started doing it. Beware, it's a good bit to read if you don't like to read.
