Selling for cash

Have any of you ever just sold some beats for cash? If you don't care about the beats at all (even find them a bit embarrasing), would you just straight up sell them for cash to someone who wants them? I know you'd never do that for most shit, and you'd get a contract and an entertainment lawyer involved if it's a serious deal... I just wanna know if any of you have ever done this.

i do that shit all the time ... all the damn time ... just do ur research and know who you are sellin to ... u def dont wanna miss out on any major paper but everythings not allways about contracts and shit ... but i got regulars that hit me off weekly with cash for beats and studio time ... ill give them hot ones too just cuz u cant sit on beats forever..... real heaters i save for myself or my submission tapes but cats hit me off $50 here $100 there, the shit adds up at the end of the month... i made about $700 in september on cash transactions and its the 10th of oct and i made about $200 for the month so far. thats extra money in the pocket (still broke though) but u gotta be quick making tracks and have a large catalog or its not worth it operating like that cuz u will run out of beats quick lol...

i have a question like this too. what if someone wanted to buy an older beat of yours, which you think is shit, but wouldn't mind getting cash for. then he puts your name on the production credits. and when people hear that shit beat and see your name, they'll think you're shit. just say 'don't give me cred'?

i dont know why u wouldnt take credit for it .. alot of shit beats blow the fuc up and become hits... plus u still completed the beat .. if i get all the way through to the point where im actually recording the beat i know that at least subconsouisly something is hot enough about this track that i actually finished it ... u can always have ur name left out of the credits but i say any exposure is good exposure..(well not really but u get the point) .. i mean whats the worst that can happen .. if the beat is trash and the emcee is trash .. no one is gonna hear it anyway or care who it was produced by... (no harm done to u plus u got dough in your pocket) on the flip side if the artist does something amazing with it u will be hailed as the innovator who created a new style ... think about it
