some help with keyboard

i just got a casio ctk-691 and i have a uno midi/usb cable and i got it to play and record in sonar 3 producer edition, the problem is when i play something on the keyboard it sounds fine but when i play it back it sounds all weird, like i can make a drumbeat on it but but it sounds like some synthesizer shit when i play it back

does anyone know what im doing wrong?

hmm i used to have the same exact keyboard. what are you recording, midi data? or the audio signal?

ok i got it to play and record whatever bank i put it on but it wont let me export anything as a wav or an mp3
