Sound Card Questions.

I just got a new pc. Is there a quality difference between an internal and external soundcard? My old pc had the audiophile 2496 internal with rca ins and outs. But i gave it to a friend. So the new one has a normal soundcard, but i want to get the audiophile 2496 usb interface as long as nothing changes. Any suggestions?

i have read somewhere that an internal soundcard is better due to the fact that it is actually plugged directly into the pci slot.

Nope That Is Wrong. I Have A Tascam Fw1880 External Sound Card And Its Crystal Clear. If You Want Good Sound You Need To Get A Dedicated Soungcard For Recording On The Computer. But From My Past Experiance **************stay Away From Soundblaster******************************* Ther Sound Cards Are Trash. The Tascam Sound Cards Are Really Good Though
