Studio One 7 is now released.

Significant new features;
- Launcher (clip launch like Ableton)
- Stem separation

Not so keen on their new release plan, but those are two real significamt additions to the update.
I thought you were going to add:

  • You now rent it instead of owning it.
LOL.

Stem separation sounds really good though.

Yeah the new strategy bothers me, essentially a subscription because they're making a new one every year and ending support for the previous.

It concerns me more regarding bug fixes and churning out content/features for the sake of it, feel like the quality may go down and pointless features.

For what it's worth I've not found better stem separator than FL Studio. It's not only fast it's better quality than any other stem separator I've came across and I've tried and owned alot.

I've been thinking about testing Studio One out. I've been glued to my Sonar for soo long its hard for me to change and I have protools & Ableton live
Oh bro. I used to use Cubase but switched to Sonar cause I kinda had to. Sonar to me felt like a clunky cubase...

S1 is so fucking smooth and easy to use. Felt like Cubase to me. It's breeezy

@2GooD Productions you'll be very surprised and probably integrate it in to part of your workflow.

@K-waz @Iron Keys got me intrigued too. Just about sorted my workflow out the last month too. FL Studio / Maschine MK3 / Serato Sample. How would the Maschine integrate in to Studio One? House move this week and will have extra space for a dedicated studio. No doubt be buying shit I don't need just cause I have space.

Well, the price of Studio One is now $200. And then is $149 when you want to upgrade - I'm curious to see if there'll be any decent sale prices. Might even have monthly pricing so you essentially try it out for a while first.

Machine - I imagine you could use it with Impact XT stock drum pad. I use a PreSonus ATOM.

No idea how it may link up with the new Launcher feature.

Studio One is definitely an ease/breeze to use tho.

Don't know how easy for FL users, but that'd be same as any DAW, but still feel it'd be fairly straight forward. Lot of drag and drop functionality, ease of setup. Sometimes I find out new ways of doing things, sometimes easier and sometimes just an alternate way. (i.e. sometimes you could use a menu, or a drag and drop, or a click..variety of ways, whatwvee works.for you)
