I've been using fruity for quite a while now, but I just started to discover the wonderful world of soundfonts (aren't they great?).

The problem is that I found that package with one particularly goood sound, but it's only one note (a DO) and I didn't find a way to play with that sound (doing other notes than Do). And I had that great idea for a beat...

So please, help a beat to come alive, with all the care and instruments he really deserves, you'll see, it's a nice sensation :thumb:

Another great trick with Soundfont, is you can get a bunch of free ones like at www.hammersound.net and get a program like Awave Studio and strip the soundfonts down to the .wav files inside, its like digging for gold. Thats how I get my sounds most of the time

K, great link and advice!

I personally use vienna 2.3 from creative having a SB Live and all. You can use it to open up soundfonts and do what K said and rip the waves, or you can rearrange the DOOH sound you speak of to cover more keys. be carefule with this though, some samples sound really fake when played much faster or much slower. a lot of bassy type sounds can cover 1 or 2 octaves though, depends on the sound. Its also hella easy to make your own phat bassy dooh type sounds, just load up a 1hz sine wave or 303 wave into vienna, make in instrument out of it covering all keys, and loop the whole sample. Then in youre sf2 capable loader (i use jeskola XS-1) set to mono and turn up the portamento. now play one or two tones and play one tone while playing another, notice the smooth glide (slow jam, r&b style) :):):)
(I sure hope you have a midi keyboard/controller, makes it all a helluva lot more phun)
peace
