Okay, I played with Audacity for ages until it started fucking with my PC. In Audacity (and Cool Edit) you could have a beat.... then say an accapella underneath and play them simultaneously..... this isnt obvious in Soundforge.

How do I do it?

Maybe it's strange and some people will think I'm crazy, but I make everything in Sound Forge. I fix the bars using markers (cues in Cool Edit). Then I can synchronize each one bar as a sequence. It's different than multi-tracking, but it works very good. I have access to operate with each one of bars easy and faster.

P.S. Excuse me for the big delay of the answer, but I just registered... you know... I'm a newbie and decided to enter in discussion before to clean the floor... lol

but the new sf9 has a multi- track so u can do that in 9
