Well this time Canada is not the place to go if you in America like in Vietnam you could just go across the border and be safe but Canada has said they will ship your ass back LOL so I dont know, deserters will have no choice of where to go.....but I do know this much if a draft does actually come back in play my man has it correct, you wont have too much of a choice in what Field you go into, at least if you volunteer you can pretty much pick what you want to enlist for but also if they call people back up that have gotten out like ME<----LOL then I can get back into my specialty but the draft will be ugly IF it comes back but all of these threats in the press from China and how they are increasing the size of their military only really leaves the US with the alternative that they keep saying they wont and dont need to do is start drafting , I mean the Pentagon on Friday just said they want to lift the recruiting limit age from 35 to 42 now that is some crazy shit right there....it tells me we are one step closer to the Draft if you ask me....

I see what your saying, but do not agree. Right now Bush has hundreds of ground troops in Iraq dying in order to spare lives of Iraqi Civilians. These days ground troops take little part in wars that a nation is actually trying to win. Therefore, all that is necessary is the air force and the navy, and the army would supply enough ground troops for a war--if it's the priority of your government to protect its own citizens and win the war. As a result of Bush's moral cowardice, he willingly lets many American soldiers die who do not need to in order to spare Iraqi civilians and not hurt the "world opinion." I for one do not want to go risk my life for the sake of our enemy country civilians' lives, and for that reason would say fuck you if they tried to draft me. Also, it is the most blatant violation of individual rights for a government to force its citizens to go to war, and America most of all should not be doing it. Your life belongs to you, not the state. On the other hand, if Bush said that there is a threat to our lives and freedom and his number one goal (honestly) is to protect the soldiers and win the war, I would be totally willing to enlist.

And I didnt say desert out of cowardsness, but because the reason for your friends being shot at, or being there isnt valid, this is US politics vs no politics...
