Tips and Techniques for moving the crowd.

Although I used to go by Crowd Mover Forever its been an actual minute since I moved the crowd(sadly)...
I havent been to a show in a hot sec either, not since they started havin a shootout EVERY show that comes here(at least at the clubs).
SO my question is for the active playing MC's or DJ's or for anyone who has been to a good show recently, what are some good crowd participation techniques that you know of or have seen.
Maybe we can help one another improve shows.

I like to take an aerosol can to my lighter and light the first few rows on fire....that's always a good one. Really gets the crowd movin!

Thats a good one!! Instead of beer Ill either have my peeps throw High content Booze or lighter fluid on the first few rows then throw sparklers into it...THEN stage dive onto them!

The best night out i ever had was at a club where the mc got the whole place moving in syncronisation, is was phat to see and be a part of. My mate managed to punch a girl in the nose by mistake, she got too close and shit, took one on the nose for it. But apart from that minor mishap, it was a great clubnight.

put the mic out to the crowd on the hook
have evryone take their lighters out
have evryone take there cell phones out so they light up
dont stand still .... MOVE around on the stage
invent a dance and have the crowd do it
shout instructions to the crowd ie: throw ya hands up etc
have bitches get up on the stage and shake it ...
tell the hos to show there tits
give a hundred dollar bill to the ho with the nices ttitties/ass
have everyone inhale their blunt at the same time...
get good quality hype men that know how to play their position

When I DJ, throwing some old school classics toward the end of the night always get people moving. Songs such as Juicy, Real Love, Hip Hop Horay, and songs that people haven't heard in a LONG ass time always get the crowd moving. But, you can't have old school playing all night long. It doesn't always work all the time. It depends on the crowd and the moment. The only advice I can give to yall is, READ the crowd. You gotta have that basic instinct on what the crowd wants. This should come naturally, if it doesn't then sorry to say you aint got it.

LOL I think anything over a decade old is considered old school now. TIME FLIES!! YES WE GETTIN OLD!

That was the point in the thread though..Certainly crowd moving has progressed beyond"Everybody say Hooo!" or "this is my side of the place and I know they are louder than the other side yall make some noise!"

hell yeah i feel u there .. i was listening to the "ol skool" segment on power 105 the other day .. yo they were playin shit i dont even consider old!! ... big pun, norega shit, wu, lox,jay-z, the firm they even played some master p and some of that first cash money shit .... they even played a cut from THE CLISPE first album! eventhign was from 97 and up! Damn! i still got some of that stuff in my cd rotation to this day! ... iits offical .. anything made in the 90's period is now considered ol skool .. even late ninties ... .. i almost shit my pants when the radio voice says "taking back to the old skool" and then "Still Dre" came on ... nigga dat shit was 2001!
