There's a lot of hype around Maschine....I think even too much where people are looking at it as like the autotune of music production.... All you need is Maschine and you'd be a beast...

Truthfully..most of the people who promote it....DON'T use it....

There's a Ski beats video where he swears by the Maschine...

Then there's a video where he's chopping up a record in the MPC and the Maschine is just sitting on the shelf....

I find it hard to believe that all of these big name producers use this as their main bitch...... Just marketing...

I love my Maschine to death and I owe a lot of my growth in music to it.....however it is way over hyped.

I am friends with an guy who works as an engineer with NO ID, and he said that NO ID won't leave the studio WITHOUT Maschine. Dude goes everywhere with it. So I think the NO ID stuff is real. Ski beats, I agree IDK about him. But there are some big players rockin Maschine.

and on that note my ipod touch is to old to run imaschine.........ffffffffuuuuuuuuucccckkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!

Companies do that all the time when tying to push a new product...I remember when the MV-8000 dropped Rolands site had all these videos of Jermaine Dupri using the MV and swearing by it. JD always has and always will use a MPC 60 and besides those rolands vids i have never once seen him use the MV.

Nottz, No I.D., and Needlz do actually use the Maschine though as their main piece

Here's my TRUE take on both the MV and Maschine thus far...keeping in mind that I've just only started using Maschine...

The only thing that they really have in common is banging on the pads and applying effects on the fly. Otherwise, they shouldn't even be compared because they do so much more than that. Anyway, here goes my take on whats important...

Ease of use - Maschine
Versatility/Capability - MV
Start up - Maschine
Overall Functionality - MV
Pads - MV
Software - Maschine
Changes on the fly - Maschine
Mobility - MV
Accessibility - Maschine
Commitment/Updates - Maschine
Overall Production - MV
Workflow - Maschine

So there it is in my opinion so far. It's up to you all to decide whats really important to you personally. Maschine gets more of my votes but overall the MV is impeccable because it's a full production piece of gear, from creating - to mixing - to mastering. It put simply...the MV does it all.

If you have a laptop mobility goes to Maschine...

Versatility? I don't know about that, with the addition of VST...I could pull up countless amounts of dope instruments.. on Maschine...I could chop a record, and make a dope synth beat with one of my many instruments.

I'm not trying to knock your opinion....just some stuff I don't agree on.

I feel you...

Mobility - well you know why I edged the MV, it doesn't need a laptop. The difference is an extra piece of gear and its all about less with being mobile BUT the other side of that coin is the MV isn't really something that I would feel AS comfortable moving here and there with a DJ setup. Same thing with versatility, it doesn't rely on anything else to do the job.
