I have a small dilema. I recently received about $300 for my birthday, which I was going to use to get my ASR 10 board repaired and back in working order. Then I was planning on selling the ASR and using the money to get a Triton.(Either rack or keyboard). The main reason I was getting the Triton was for the sounds. Right now I am using FL and Reason and Cubase to do my beats. What I am thinking now is, why not spend the $300 on a Proteus 2000 instead of the Triton? Still using the software to sequence my drums? Or, should I hold out for the Triton? I know obviously the Triton has better sounds, but all I want right now is some good sounds to put into my beats and I heard the Proteus is awesome!! Anybody have any advice?? Thanks

My opinion is dont by a workstation Just for the sounds make sure you like alll of its features. So if sounds is what youre looking for I'd go for a proteus the sounds are Real nice imo.

Thanks for the reply. Does the Proteus have "Real Instrument" Sounds(Strings, Guitar etc.) And if so, how are they? Thanks

If your looking at getting the triton because of the sounds...don't everyone has a triton and the sounds have all been used... I got my motif when they first came out and no one in the industry was using them... and I was so happy to have sounds that weren't all over the radio...
