Yo Big D could you break down the pocket one more time? Sorry I'm not really experienced with a lot of music terms, so I'm not totally sure I get what you mean. As simple as it might sound Im not totally getting the thing about the pocket just being the groove of the drummer. Anyway you could point out where a pocket/pockets are in a popular song we'd both have? Rap or jazz? Thanks man.

WE HAVE all agreed where are the gogo heads, is this basically what I said LOL.......we hear pocket beats all day long out here though....yes drums included, congaz and everything else...the beat rides, the bass rides, accents where need be...exactly what I said, but anyhow you will know when you hear a pocket, trust me...for jazz its a lil more suttle pocket than when I hear one LOL....a solo or break can be part of the pocket lets say that then....someone upload a pocket in the terms of jazz so we can see aight...

u wanna hear a great in the pocket jazz group...most anything by Miles Davis' great quintets...also Thelonious Monk....Coltrane's quartets..those guys NEVER lost the the rhythm lol..
