- kids make shit copies of shit that is shit
- accessibility means no quality control means kids have a platform for their shit
- shit shit starts getting released
- kids become accustomed to listening to absolute shit; shit music; shit bars; shit technique ... and now think that is the standard
- make shit and more shit gets released and consumed because no one has a good gage or standard for judgement
- the cycle of shit perpetuates

The atlantic just called, it wants its salt back. Shitty music is the fault of label execs that push it and make it popular. All creative outlets are being watered down into mediocrity. Its the times we live in and its only going to get worse. Imagination is being stifled until we are surrounded by mediocrity, this is all by design. Better get used to it.

Now music is accessible; to make, record, release, distribute, promote.

On the surface, that sounds like a good thing - everyone who was making great music can now get their stuff out there and heard; but that's the problem... EVERYONE can get their music out there. So what happens is you just this absolute flood of pure shit. Everywhere. It's absolutely everywhere. So especially kids, but anyone, is accustomed to poorly written, poorly recorded, poorly performed music. So they have absolute ZERO ability to discern what is good or bad - and that's why we have/had A&Rs and other label people... to help keep some standards and control over what is actually good enough. Whether that was majors or independents.

The accessibility of music, especially in regards to releasing it, along with social media has been large part responsible for the collapse of quality in music. And kids. Always blame "the kids".

To look at it from the bright side, that shit opened up a lot of doors for everybody. The whole music maffa has been taken down. Artists are free to create and publish, how shitty that is 95% of the case. But what were the chances your beats would be chosen by a Sony or deathrow label? Cmon now......Atleast in this era you can get in touch with artists and you might even produce some fire tracks. I believe eventually hard work and dedication, and a good portion of self reflection will get you a long way

Get your music to the right artists, and some day that shit will head off in the right direction man These battles are not a good representation of the true value of your or who evers work. I dunno, but I been at Sony HQ before and placed top 5 in an Aftermath comp, and seemed to pop up on Interscope's radar.

That was a long time back, so need to re-find a way to move.

I agree to an extent, we have an overabundance of beats. Its oversaturated the market. By the rules of supply and demand there is far more supply than demand

I was actually going to make this same point. Now everything is direct/ no filter... "Back in the day", you would have copycat bands/ rappers but as soon they got their deal, the record labels would tweak their image and sound so that they had their own lane.
Yes.. There was a Pepsi for every Coke.. Like an 'Nsync' for every 'Backstreet Boys', and a 'Christina' for every 'Brittany'... but at least they had different color hair.

Obviously saturation is a problem... but you'd think in an ocean of shit beats, good ones would stand out. But they don't.

Because the issue is, not enough peiple have the ability to discern a good beat from a shit one.
