Hey Illmuzik! Anyways, I was wondering what yall's dream studio would be, but I'm talking about a realistic goal to reach by next new years...This is what I want in my musical arsenal, and am saving up for most of these already!

Quantum Leap StormDrum
EastWest Orchestra Silver
EastWest Bosendorfer 290 Grand Piano
Cubase SX3
UltraFocus
Absynth
Battery
EastWest Prosamples Platinum Adrenaline Synth
Akai MPC1000
Roland Fantom XR

This is the setup I'm aiming for, for Film Scoring, Hip Hop, RnB, Reggaeton, and Jazz productions...It looks so beautiful! :(
This is what I already have...

Cubase SE
Reason 2.5
Edirol Orchestra
Sampletank 2XL
Kontak
FM-7

So, what are you aiming for by next year?

I just thought this would be an interesting thread...

ah.......

here is my wish list.

the "big three" racks/boards:

Motif ES Rack- mainly for the awesome rhodes/wurly/clav/organ patches
Fantom XR, fully expanded with the world, brass, orchestral, strings, keys, and drum cards.
Triton Extreme- great synths, pads, etc.

Proteus 2000- the bass in this puppy is great, my personal fav out of any instrument i have used. plus they have very unique organ patches that i cant find elsewhere.

MPD 16, just for the pads.

thats about it for my hardware gear.....

my pc rig....

Pentium 4 3.0 +
3 gigs of ram
2 120 gig hard drives
Emu 1820 card
Cubase SX 3.0 (i have 2.0)

VST's
Battery 2 (on its way as we speak)
VSL Horizon Saxophone (should be here today, actually!)
Yellow Tools Culture (ULTIMATE percussion)
Waves Gold Bundle (already have)

Acoustic and ELectric Guitar, Live Bass, and guys to play them. oh wait- i already have these! get ready for that one, bitches! i have the players, who have their own instruments. what i need now is outboard pedals, though i have the very capable guitar rig as it is....

Live drum kit/general percussion set

to be honest, i would be well set with just the motif es, but the roland xr has a lot of things that i want/like that nothing else has. actually, i have a pretty well rounded setup as it is.

my dream

Hardware:
asr-10
mpd-16
motif es rack
turntable
over 100 crates of records
krk monitors
guitars
double bass drum set(i always wanted to play drums for a rock and role band plus i like the drum set-up metallica got)

Software:
Logic 7 pro
vst's
photoshop pro
video editing software
3d max

Computer:
Apple G5
4 gigs of ram
120 gb firewire hard drive

G5 powerbook
17 inch screen
logic 7 pro
photo shop
3d max
and top of the line video editing software

hell i could still make some tight ass beats with just a asr, mpc, sound module, and some records tho so it don't even matter to me as long as i am making music but that would be pretty sweet tho

HOLD UP! WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! I forgot monitors! How can you have a studio without proper monitors? How very foolish of me! :D I might knock off the Fantom XR, and get a pair of Mackie HR824s...

And I want just a couple of live musicians, but I enjoy making stuff myself, it'll take the fun out of production if you'd just tell other people what to do...

Not really, you do the notes yourself than they redo it with real instruments and all

A EPS16+ rack with some midi controller. That would be my portable setup.

And I want one of them old pianos. Like a real old one.

Wishfull thinking at its best...

The " modern " control room...

of course, for starters...

The SSL AWS 900, analogue console, digital workstation... The 9000K fitted with a daw interface, if it would die, you die hehe.
http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/products/aws900/controller.php

Mac G5, 2x 2.5Ghz, 10Gb ram, 2xsata 400GB, 30" mac screen and 2000 ansi lume beamer.

Mac Xserve Raid, 5.6TB ( 14x400GB )...recording storage and enables space for video/movie productions.

Logic...what else hehe

P4 3.6Ghz, 2GB ram, 2x200GB SATA, 19" flatpanel. Hooked to a MOTU. PC sync to Logic.

Just running FL for pre production, MOTU sends 24Bit/192Khz to ssl D/A converters via .

Westlake BBSM-15 and Genelec 80xxA ( depends on controlroom dimensions ).

That's westlake studios right ? or Atlanta ?

Looks a bit like http://www.westlakeaudio.com/Studios/Studio_List/studio_c.html ,

not my idea of a dream studio but still impressive...

http://www.westlakeaudio.com/Studios/Studio_List/studio_d.html

Now my dream studio has got to be build by Russ Berger

Say amen to www.rbdg.com ( hit projects....and there's more in the pull down menu, there's also some funny, and depending on your wealth, some nice designer topics and tips )

Not bad either is peter gabriel's studio in the UK .... www.realworldstudios.com and take the 3d trip, the room mechanics are also sick. The whole complex had been build to record in the control room...so the studio is actualy the control room or vice versa...

Studio's like this... life just aint fair hehehehe
