    Maschine Sampling

If your scene is 4 bars your shortest clip should loop... Put the 1-bar sample on a different group.

    Maschine Sampling

Assuming you've timestretched the sample to the tracks BPM... Just hit the pad. I've never used iTunes on my computer - just on my ipad/phone - but you need to convert the track to WAV. If you're using a PC, drag and drop the mp3 (not sure if that'll work from iTunes) into Audacity (free) and...

    Maschine Sampling

    1) read up on timestretch... This is how you 'sync' As far as flow my understanding (of what I think you might mean) is that there's a couple of ways... You can just put individual sample on their own pad within a group and then decide what (if anything) chokes what... If you're wanting to chop...

Time coded vinyl - Serato/Traktor - in production.

Craigslist hasn't really taken off in the UK... It's eBay or Gumtree here (and Gumtree tends to end up with you visiting a crackhouse and buying 'morethanlikely' nicked gear when dealing with audio stuff) Yeah, a 1200 would be ideal but they're still selling used for crazy money... Likely to be...

Time coded vinyl - Serato/Traktor - in production.

Cheers man... Turntable likely to be used (was just gonna try and get a direct-drive table that isn't too trashed) and I that DJ-Tech mixer looks like the ticket! Question would be Serato vs Traktor; but as I use Maschine, Traktor probably makes the most sense as I'm guessing it has greater...

Time coded vinyl - Serato/Traktor - in production.

I'd need to get a few things (a better turntable, DJ-mixer, either Serato or Traktor and a timecode vinyl) first but I've been wondering about the possibilities of being able to scratch my own tracks into my own tracks and back into my DAW... Any of you do this? What's the process? My...

How do you make your bassline?

I try to take a bass note out of the sample I'm working and un-choke it from the rest of the chops (so it can be played in keyboard mode 'behind' the rest of the flip without being choked by; or choking any other sample) and EQ & compress it accordingly. But sometimes I'll lay down a lick on the...

I think I'm going to make beats all day today

I'm a Yorkshire lad. Is 'fortnight' not commonly used to describe two weeks over there? It's a bloody good word! Sheeeeeeet... I spell colour properly too!

    Sampling Help [FL Studio/slicex]

I know this is an older thread but... DAW don't matter... The things you do are the same across platforms. Make sure your sample is cut TIGHT (often referred to as 'Truncating'). If it's a 2-bar (or 4-bar or whatever) sample make sure it loops clean without your own drums. Find the tempo...

I think I'm going to make beats all day today

I've been working on the same joint for nearly a fortnight. Every chance I get. It's the bells see.... The bells.... I hear the bells... I actually tried to put some bars over it the other night - I can't rap for shit! The beat is nice though! Those bells man....

    Looking For Some Help

I guess the one redeeming feature of trap (I'm not a fan) from a sampling POV is that it tends to have a fair amount of space in the mix... You should be able to grab some single-hit samples fairly easily. It's just gonna be time consuming. If you're not comfortable doing this within your DAW...

What's the typical genre that you sample from first?

70s soul & funk... On a recent dig-trip I picked up a load of Stylistics & Third Degrees records... That was a nice find. I definitely gravitate to the funk/soul/jazz crates.

    Sticky Show Your Setup!

These are the most recent shots I have... I've ditched the korg Nanokontrol and have a turntable (cheap ass automatic for time being) Next buy likely to be a Steinberg UR44 to replace the 2i2 as I want more I/O or a direct drive TT & mixer. I'd really like a decent DAW control surface too...

    How many beats....

Depends what you mean by beats... I can normally get 3 or 4 (maybe 5) decent flips out of a sample sometimes... Out of those I'll work further on 1 or 2. On a Sunday I might work 4 samples if I'm going hard... So (if we say 4 flips per sample) that's 16 flips on four samples probably the...

    What Controller?

I really hope you made sure the Maschine software has been de-registered and is good to go before you handed over the cash... Maschine hardware is next to useless without the software... With the software it's pretty amazing (the brain of my setup). I've got my fingers crossed for you Bro!!
