    Foam Padding

Well... yeah, but you gotta make sure they're sealed tight in the cloth covering. You don't want that drunk rapper knocking it down and sendin fiberglass particles floatin around.

    Foam Padding

Be careful, because the regular foam you can get from anywhere isn't as effective as the studio grade foam, and it also poses a fire threat. Those acoustic panels in that link are made of rigid fiberglass (most commonly Owens corning 703 or 705), covered in burlap or some other fabric. You can...

HOw Much have you invested in your Lab?

I started off with $7000 in 2001, and I sold some stuff, bought a bunch of stuff, and traded some stuff since then. I'm probably over $10,000 but I stopped counting a long time ago lol.

Whats a descent pc under 1000 dollars?

just as a note: your current recorder is digital... unless it has two big reels of tape on it... I built my PC for less than $200. But I also had access to some cheap parts from the IT department at work. Stuff like video cards, cdroms, floppy drives and cables and shit. Also you're...

    pHATmatiK pro

pHATmatik is my bread and butter. I bought it when it first came out. The beauty of pPro is that you don't have tochop up your samples before you load them. You can chop the sample in pPro and just run wid it from there. Also you can use pPro as a sample editor by dragging and dropping those...

    To all ya'll non-hardware users!

I've done both software and hardware. And now my lab is a mixture. I got a Mac G5 running Logic and some other SW, and a PC running VSTs. I have an Alesis ION, an Emu EMAX I Rack, and an S900 as ahrdware modules, and a Bellari mic pre and compressor. Best of both worlds. I still want a hardware...

    Really...Dipset = The Biggest Samples/Beats Wasters in Hip-Hop

get your qwerty right dog, lol! j/k I can't say i hate mufuckas no more. I respect anybody that got the hustle to put it down in the industry, whether I like their music or not. And you gotta admit Dipset is puttin it down.

    G3

It would be fine as long as you're not trying to run more than two or three plugins. If you just use the G3/Cubase for a sequencer, and use hardware sound modules and samplers, you'll be fine.

    Favourite Microphones

I know I sound like a fanboy, but I can't say enough about Studio Electronics Mics. They sound much more expensive than they are. I have an SE3300A.

    best beat making video ever

THat shit was hot! he gave me a lot of ideas. Time to break my giutar out now... I think the sickest part of it was the J Dilla hi hat pattern. That just set it off. That bassline was hot tho. What was that a Neumann TLM-103? I wonder what preamp he used?

    Favorite Produced Song

Mine is Babylon on that same album (ATLiens for the youngins). Its a couple cuts on that album that me and my homeboy always go back and forth try'na figure out which is the best, but that's my favorite cut on my favorite album. Organized Noise was the truth.

How did you get your NAME?

Nah man, being fake makes you fake. Like calling yourself Gangsta D and you ain't no gangsta. Or talking about moving weight when the heaviest thing you carry is your mom's grocery bags, and she kick you off fruity loops to check her email. But, for example Grafik. That's who he is... How is...

How did you get your NAME?

I'm a comic book cat from waaaayyyy back in the eighties. And I'm not too good with the whole naming thing, so I grabbed a villain's name and just spelled it different. It was MXYZPTLK from Superman. The little midget from the fifth dimension that Superman had to get him to say his name...

    Where to buy Vinyls?

The thrift store is usually hit or miss. I usually get 2 good records out o10. But OTOH they dirt cheap. If you are more familiar with the artist, you have a better chance of picking up some good stuff. But then again, I grabbed a few records off the cuff with some crazy lookin white cats on the...
