    Fed up of sampling

Good point but if you can manipulate the sample enough to sound totally different you can probably get away with it. Me I just listen for little things like guitar riffs or percussion sounds to sample.

Iv'e used the proteus 200 with a Triton and the Proteus has better drums and it's got a lot of other useable sounds too.

    Lead keys

I would probably say the M-mu pk6. You get the proteus sounds and it's also expandable. Or you could try and get like a Roland XP60 on ebay.

    Dr. Dre synth alert!!!

Yamaha probably paid Dre to have their motif in the commercial. Companies always give out free gear to artists as a means of advertisement. Check out yamaha's Website. I'm not saying he doesn't use it, he probably does.

    MPC Samples

I didn't like the cd at first but after digging through it you will find some banging drumz. I load the cd with an external HP CDRW Drive that I got on ebay. It's a big time saver than transferring to floppies. I don't even use floppies anymore because I also have a SCSI Zip drive. I load the...

    mpc2000

I use a zip drive for my MPC and one for my Triton. They are a whole lot faster so you can concentrate mor on your music. One 100mb zip is like 75 floppies man. And that much faster. Some samples can take up like most of a whole floppy before you chop it up

    Harmful for MPC?

I used to have my triton and mpc hooked up to the same zip drive via scsi but my files kept getting corrupted and lost. I think this happpens if they try to read or write at the same time so I just got another zip drive one for each.

    To Triton users?

I got a Triton classic pro. I needed the 76 keys. I like the warmth of the motif sounds though. I'm not to thrilled about the LE version. I would like to upgrade to the studio version. I do want to get a second board though and I'm looking at the Yamaha CS6X, Motif6, or a Roland XP30/60

how much do you sell your beats?

I just recently started selling beats. What I've done was have them come in and tell me how they want there music to go or just have them sing the hook and I work from there in about 2-3 hours I can have a whole song with intro verse chorus bridge. I started at $100 each doing reggae tracks.

    synths (urban feel type)

Different boards have certain strenghths and weaknesses. Yamaha Motif has some nice acoustic sounds. Strings Horns Etc. Korg Triton has those bass and synth like sounds. Triton requires more tweaking in sequencer mode to get the sounds up to par though.
