IMO, along with the fact that you used a different sound, the timing on your interpolatoin was different from the original. I'd try to emulate the groove and timing of the song as much as playing the same notes. Good thread though, I think sometimes it's good to put on songs you like and play... -

Hell yeah that's useful, I'm sure you have people in here with hot tracks that have samples that need shit replayed. If you can actually do this, and actually do it good, it's a damn useful skill and worth showing people what you can do. let's hear it. -

Mpc2000XL Rec Gain Prob
I don't remember about on a 2k, however on the 1k, yes, even with the volume turned down all the way on the rec gain knob, some signal still leaks out. It's no big deal, just don't have a signal going into it when you're tracking out or mixing your beat. -
Simpsons Movie
Just got back into town... Overall the move is pretty good, keeps your interest for 88 minutes. There have definitely been funnier episodes on TV and you even have Homer mocking the audience in the beginning of the film for paying to see something they can stay home and get for free.
