Suggestions on PC speakers
don't buy pc speakers. I got a yamaha amplifier and some decent speakers hooked to my computer. that is a whole lot better than pc speakers. -

what I do sometimes is when I want like a bossa nova drumbeat, I take a loop of an original track, put it in fruity loops, find the bpm and place my own drums under the loop till it fits. than remove the loop and start adding your own style and swing to the drumbeat. works perfectly for me.- eka

you have to change the settings from the inputs of your soundcard. it will probably be set on "what you here" so it records everything you hear and you have to set it to "line in" or "aux" so it just records what you want. I don't know if your soundcard has a mixer of it's own or you just have... -

Sampling drums? HELP!
http://www.e-lab.se/default2.htm here you got about 1200 samples for free including basskicks. you could also try layering kicks on top of each other and a hihat on a basskick isn't always a bad thing. http://www.modarchive.com/waveworld/ this is also a good one for drums. -

this is true but I even had them corrupted. still don't know what was wrong. as soon as I'm finished in fruity I render them to wav (induvidual tracks) and save them that way. I can edit and mix them in a multitrack recorder any time. -

I do it in fruity loops. I don't use acid to create my beats. I just use it as a multitrack recorder. -

I think it might work, but I think you are gonna hear the other sounds as well. When I use the steinberg compressor in wavelab you can listen to low mid and high independently and you also hear the other sounds to an extend, because most sounds got low, mid and high in them. it just sounds...
