i'm waiting on the next sample. i don't usually participate, but i enjoyed this one. i think that as long as i don't listen to other people's tracks BEFORE i make mine, i'm good. the others are so good that i tend to get discouraged. LOL.

@dac - i was going to say that the change up around the :32 mark was my favorite part, but then i got to the break down at 1:31...tight work!

    Hip Hop Confessions

i think that Pac's passion is what did it for him. you could actually feel the shit that he was saying. or feel that he really meant what he was saying. got another one: i hate when the dj "runs that shit back.....REWIIIIIND!" on mixtapes/cds. in the club, it's okay, but i don't need to...

I really need to learn how to sample. http://soundcloud.com/wrightboy/major-harris @SMM - now that's how you sample without getting sued. LOL! nice hip hop beat. @Smokaz - laid back. i like everything that you've done here. @Dac - you're going to make me learn how to scratch. you're...

Rick Ross needs to A&R Nas' next album

i've heard premo talking about serato. never actually seen him use it though. never seen pete rock not use an mpc....i can vaguely remember him on an mv8000, but don't quote me on that.

    recording rap vocals...?

i think the mixing of the different vocals matter more than them actually using the same equipment. today, hardly anyone records together. everyone does their parts in their environment. as long as you have a cohesive mix, none of that other stuff really matters.

    Hip Hop Confessions

my comments in the other thread made me dig this one back up. so here's the "other" confession that i was alluding to in that thread.... I never liked Wu-Tang Clan. i like a lot of ghostface's stuff (his shit has so much comedy in it), i like some raekwon (OBFCL was tight), and method man...

Getting an entire album to sound the same?

what lion said. there is going to be some "mixing" that's going to have to be done to the individual regions (tracks) though. shouldn't be too much, a sprinkle here, and a sprinkle there. i try to do everything at this stage based on RMS levels instead of peak as well.

Rick Ross needs to A&R Nas' next album

i admit, premo is nice. i just think that he gets over hyped a lot. i mean, he did his thing. he took hip hop somewhere, but so did kwame and herbie lovebug and you don't hear their names thrown around at all. LOL! aight, i'm trippin with the kwame comment, but you get the point...

Rick Ross needs to A&R Nas' next album

outkast, scarface, ugk...yes. waka flocka, gucci mane, d4l...no. i don't listen to a lot of the new stuff out. grew up listening to old school westcoast (ice cube, nwa, mack 10, too short, etc.) also listened to the hit/def squad stuff, ll, run dmc, heavy d..stuff like that. just was...

Rick Ross needs to A&R Nas' next album

i didn't start the thread meaning that Ross has the dopest beats ever, i just think....again, concentrate on the word "I", that Ross can pick better beats than Nas can. Nas' first album was the shit, but like Oz said, Nas didn't pick those beats. Not saying that he has too though. that's the...
