@Formant - I was thinking 'standalone' in terms of not needing a computer at all like the older MPC's but I can't find any removable storage either. Could it have a huge hd in it?
@dp - It appears to have a powercord slot beside the usb.
Sooo Im taking it that you would put your eq's behind your compressors?
EDIT: I know what you're getting at, but the truth is (quoted from Mike Senoir @ S.O.S) "There are no hard and fast rules here. A lot of it has to do with the way you work, and for subtle EQ settings I don't think it's...
Since I converted over to 'more' composing and less sampling, I've had to change my Mastering sidechain a bit. I used to be a 'by the book' die hard 'Har-Bal Mastering Process' kind of guy until lately. I also stopped relying on Waves as much.
As with any conversation dealing with...
judging from the video, they show it alone at first and then they show it hooked up to a laptop so Im thinking both...and yeah I think you're right, if it does it will be over the grand mark. Thats the only way they could justify the high price tag. All speculation right now though.
I think the price will have a lot to do with it's success if it's gonna compete with Maschine. It looks 10x better than Maschine (to me) but that wont justify a hefty price tag. Somewhere around $800 would get them in the ballpark but thats not typical for MPC's.
I was gonna say if I produced it. Really I think it's all of the above with the key being longevity. If it's something that you just can't hear to much of, or after 5yrs plus you can look back on it and still like it...it's a classic.
Welcome TF! I would definitely 'edit out' the "being a friend of Relics" part if you want a good start...lol. Just kidding, Relic is good peeps when he's not pissed off about something. Ok, seriously, welcome to the community, enjoy!
