Cheating On FL....W/t Reason
I don't think you understand the full potential of fruity loops. you can do what ever you want with fruity loops and I can't say that for reason ( being a closed system.) -
FL Piano Roll
there is an other way, on the top left side of the piano roll where you can select a pencil, brush, etc. there is a knive and when you select it you can cut your notes anywhere you like. -

Problem with Synths!!!
you have to open the synth and when you look at it there should be some ADSR faders or buttons. the "bleeding" of your sound has to do with that. the sound doesn't stop but keeps on going. the A is for Attack, D for Decay, S for Sustain and R for Release. With these faders or buttons you can... -

it looks cool. maybe you should mix your tracks firts in a multitracker like acid,cubase or something like that. it can bring more room into the mix. that way you don't have to blast it all up in reason. I mix them in acid and put a compressor and limiter on top during mixing and than just... -

hmmm, strange. how come your hihats are not in the upper range? I would try the multiband compressor in wavelab. that one works great for my songs. how do you mix your tracks? (wich program do you use) or tell me how you make your beats. I make them in fl, than mix them in acid and master... -

it depends. I use eq on different parts of the track but also on the whole track. it depends on what the sounds need. I will aply a compressor on every track I do. sometimes it is just a matter of good mixing, not eq. -
layering drums to sound thicker...care to share???
The low end theory is taking a basskick, filter all the high and mid out of it so you are left with all the low in the kick (I use the multiband compressor in wavelab for this, but all eq is good I think) than place that bassdrum in your track and than layer the original kick over the processed... -

you've pumped it up to loud. the drums are all flat at the top and bottem, their should be a nice peak. maybe that is the problem. you don't leave any headroom. you could try the multiband compressor in wavelab. for eqing I use the waves eq. -
Need some FL Expertise...
what I do is use one pattern for one sound and make my track in the playlist (don't forget to click song next to the playbutton on the left). I put every individual sample or synth (vsti) on a different channel in the mixer and than export it to wav. this way you get a .wav file for every sound... -

I found this free 303 emulator called muon tau. I like it very much, the soundquality is good and it's pretty simple. the m-drive is a distortion plugin wich you download at the same time, also pretty good. if you like 303 sounds you should def. check this one out. download here...
